PARENT workshops

Learn how to support and encourage your child through the unique experiential activities which are the hallmark of all Positive Discipline workshops. Discover how to effectively and respectfully guide your child to become more responsible, co-operative and empowered in the long term. You'll have the opportunity to share specific challenges you are experiencing and explore lasting solutions. Leave encouraged, energized and equipped with the tools to handle even the difficult parenting challenges.

Module 1 - Discover the Belief behind the Behaviour

In this four session course, you will learn the basic concepts of the Positive Discipline model and discover the hidden belief behind your child’s behaviour (as well as your own possible role in it) Learn effective and positive tools to deal with misbehaviour, empower your children and respectfully encourage long lasting change.

Fee: €65 per participant per module (€35 to add parenting partner)
Number of participants per workshop. Min. 12 - Max.20

Module 2
The Art of Encouragement

Learn the crucial difference between praise and encouragement, the importance of routines and expectations and how to effectively encourage you and your child through developing mutual respect, real responsibility and problem solving skills.

Venue: John F. Kennedy School, Berlin
Time: 4 x Wednesday Mornings - 8.15 - 10.15
Dates: Oct. 23rd, 30th, Nov. 6th, 13th, 2019

 

INFORMATION
Modules 1 and 2 are open to everyone. It is preferable but not necessary to take them in order.
Fees for each module are €65 per person (or €50 if participant already has the Positive Discipline book) It costs €35 to add a parenting partner.
Fees includes a copy of the Positive Discipline book, 8 hours of instruction and homework assignments.  

Please note - Courses at JFKS are only open to members of the John F. Kennedy Friendship Center e.V. Membership is open to all parents (not just those whose children attend JFKS) and costs 35€ per year.

On behalf of The JFKS Verein and the school counselling team, parents of students at JFKS are invited to a special screening of  Screenagers on August 31st, 2018.
11.30am at Bali Kino or at 7pm at JFKS. 

This internationally acclaimed documentary explores parental struggles over their teen’s use of digital media and offers solutions to help families find balance. Experts share their thoughts on the topics the movie covers, which include social media, video games and internet addiction, digital citizenship and more. Parents of JFKS  students will receive an email with details of how to reserve a ticket.
